The Recovery Village Announces Eating Disorder Program
Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- The Recovery Village announces the launch of their Eating Disorder Program, a treatment program designed to guide individuals through the entire journey of recovering from an eating disorder. Beginning with a medical stabilization process, licensed staff members at the Recovery Village provide clients with an individualized recovery plan that takes them from their initial assessment to their final release.
Eating disorders such as bulimia, anorexia, and compulsive overeating are all process addictions that can easily take control of a person's life. While many sufferers of eating disorders are young women, men and women of all ages can be affected. Eating disorders not only put the individual's health and wellbeing at risk, but they commonly lead to issues such as substance abuse. The experienced staff at the Recovery Village is equipped to handle the complex issues associated with eating disorders, such as severe malnutrition and dual diagnosis.
The Clinical Director of detox and eating disorders at the Recovery Village, Amy Roza, LMHC, will supervise the program:
“I am excited for this opportunity to open our doors to the many who suffer from this devastating condition. Helping others heal and realize their life in recovery is what we are all about at The Recovery Village.”
Clients who seek help from the Recovery Village are provided with an individualized treatment plan. Daily treatment sessions include individual, group, recreational, and family therapy. They also see a certified dietician daily throughout their treatment program. For those that need extra support and supervision, inpatient residential treatment is available, which includes 24-hour nursing supervision. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kevin Wandler, who has over 30 years’ experience in the prevention and treatment of addiction, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders attends all patients.
Following inpatient treatment, and for patients that require less support, a Partial Hospital Program (PHP) level of care exists. PHP provides treatment for 12 hours during the day, allowing clients to return to their homes at night.
Through the launch of this program, therapists at the Recovery Village are looking forward to helping individuals who are desperate to overcome an eating disorder and get back to their life.
“Our Yoga therapy program assists clients along their road to recovery by creating and supporting the realization of a healthy body image. It connects us to that power tucked away in each of us, strengthening our ability to overcome an all-powerful eating disorder or addiction,” said The Recovery Village’s Yoga Therapy Program Specialist Sandee S. Nebel, LMHC, CEDS, RYT.
Located near the beautiful Ocala National Forest of Florida, the Recovery Village is a full service eating disorder, mental health, and substance abuse treatment facility.
