Charlotte, North Carolina (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- The Secret Chocolatier has received a Silver Award from the International Chocolate Awards 2013 Americas Semi-final for its Cardamom Chocolate Truffle. The truffle will be next judged at the World Finals in London.
“We're honored to have placed at the International Chocolate Awards with a United States Silver for our Cardamom truffle,” said Any Ciordia, co-owner of The Secret Chocolatier. “This truffle was inspired by our friend Giri [Anantharaman] and we thank him for pushing us in that direction. We love working with our fans ideas and it shows that it takes us to great places. It’s an exciting first year of competitions for us!”
This flavor of truffle was started because Anantharaman gave The Secret Chocolatier green cardamom pods and explained how his families comfort desserts were made with this spice. Since then the Anantharaman moved to California but he still keeps in touch and buys the Cardamom truffles seasonally as gifts.
The 2013 Americas Semi-final was judged at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. The International Chocolate Awards aim to recognize the best fine quality chocolate from around the world. The awards are designed to reflect international tastes and offer a level playing field for international entries.
