The Sturge-Weber Foundation Prepares for Two Conferences at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in July
2019 SWF International Family Conference and 2019 SWF International Research Network Conference to be held during July 18-20, 2019
HOUSTON, May 22, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Sturge-Weber Foundation is in preparation for two major conferences in July 2019 that will involve international SWS patients, caregivers and professionals all in one place – Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, in Wilmington, DE.
The 2019 SWF International Family Conference is July 18-20, 2019 and is an opportunity every other year for SWS patients and families to come together as a community to celebrate, educate and build relationship with others that have to connect with other families, speak to professionals who specialize in clinical care and research of SWS. In addition to the educational aspect of the conference, registrants may choose from a variety of planned activities and events that allows them the opportunity to rest and relax as well. Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is one of 25 SWF Clinical Care Network centers that comes along-side the Foundation to assist and provide specialize treatment and research for SWS and Port-Wine Birthmark (PWB) conditions. The Foundation is excited about having the hospital host this major event.
Along with the Family Conference, SWF will also be holding its second International Research Network Conference at the same location, July 19-20, 2019. This conference is designed for researchers specializing in dermatological, neurological and ophthalmological research for SWS. The conference, led by SWF Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Jonathan Pevsner, will provide a collaborative platform for researchers to discuss current and new research, compare and discuss information and findings, to set a course for future research initiatives to better, quality, life-changing treatments.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Nemours and the Sturge-Weber Foundation. Nemours is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Nemours designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
