The Trade Commission Of Spain Announces 2016 Seminar Schedule for New York Spain's Great Match
New York City, NY (PRWEB) September 28, 2016 -- The Trade Commission of Spain will be hosting the 23rd annual Spain’s Great Match event on Wednesday, October 5th in New York’s iconic IAC HQ Building. A second event will be held in San Francisco on November 15th. This collaborative extravaganza with the Tourism Office of Spain in New York, Foods from Spain and Interiors from Spain celebrates the distinctive wines, food and culture of Spain. Over 300 wines representing the varietals and wine regions of Spain will be featured in a walk-around tasting format. Importers and distributors of Spanish wines will present their best products, including new wines and the latest vintages, to wine industry professionals in the afternoon and to consumers during a ticketed evening event.
In the afternoon, select members of the wine trade and press will be invited to a panel discussion, “The Sommelier's Guide to Spain: Spanish Wine on Your List,” moderated by wine educator, Steve Olson. Three sommeliers will share how to best select Spanish wines for a restaurant list. Additional tasting seminars will be held with focus on the wines of Bierzo and Vinos de Jerez, as well as a tasting seminar hosted by Wine Enthusiast editors. In the evening, the Great Match will open to the public for a ticketed lifestyle event and will feature, along with the wine stations, food from ten of New York City’s top Spanish restaurants and tapas bars, ‘Taberna Jerez,’ a sherry cocktail lounge, and contemporary Spanish designed furnishings.
“We are very excited to offer our guests seminars on the rich wine landscape of Spain,” says Genaro González Palacios, Senior Trade Commissioner of The Trade Commission of Spain in New York. “Only at Spain’s Great Match does one have the opportunity to learn and taste in tutored seminars led by leading Spanish wine experts, meet with suppliers and sample over 300 Spanish wines.”
