YORK, Pa., Nov. 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Thomas Potter, President, and co-owner of Datum Storage Solutions, a leading provider of quality storage products, announced he will step down as president, effective November 1, 2020. Datum's General Manager, Doug Mucci, has been promoted to President of the Emigsville, Pennsylvania based manufacturing company.
Potter became president of the family-owned business in 1989 after he and his brothers purchased Filing Systems, Inc from their father, Frank Potter.
"The people of Datum have made my time at the helm most enjoyable," said Potter, "However, the time has come to pass the torch. Since joining our team, Doug Mucci has been instrumental in our success, which is why the owners and I are confident he is the right person to continue to evolve and grow this great company."
Mucci, who joined Datum in 2012, has an extensive background in industrial engineering and lean manufacturing. In his over 20 years with Harley Davidson, Inc., Mucci held leadership roles in production and engineering, including a position on Harley Davidson's strategic planning team, immediately prior to signing with Datum.
"Datum is well positioned in the storage industry because of Datum's strong business and solid manufacturing foundation," Mucci said, "But we also understand adapting and implementing change is crucial for long term sustainability in today's rapidly changing market."
Thomas Potter will continue to serve as chairman of the board.
