Thompson Creek Window Company has officially opened applications for the second year of its House Proud Heroes program, a community recognition initiative honoring homeowners across its service areas.
LANHAM, Md., March 3, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Thompson Creek Window Company has officially opened applications for the second year of its House Proud Heroes program, a community recognition initiative honoring homeowners across its service areas who serve, protect, educate, heal, inspire, and make a meaningful difference where they live.
Through House Proud Heroes, selected recipients receive up to 10 professionally installed Thompson Creek windows at no cost, helping enhance comfort and energy efficiency in their homes.
Originally launched during the company's 45th anniversary year, the program was created to recognize unsung community heroes — including teachers, veterans, healthcare workers, first responders, public works employees, nonprofit leaders, and volunteers whose quiet dedication strengthens the neighborhoods they call home.
Applications are open now and will be accepted through March 31, 2026, or until internal submission capacity is reached.
"We were deeply moved by the stories shared in our first year," said Chris Sever, president of Thompson Creek Home. "We're excited to bring House Proud Heroes back for a second year and continue recognizing homeowners who put others first. This program allows us to use what we do best to say thank you to homeowners who give so much to others."
Inaugural 2025 House Proud Heroes
In its first year, House Proud Heroes recognized homeowners whose impact spans mentorship, military service, education, and community leadership.
Kawahn Young, Baltimore, Md. — Kawahn is a veteran police officer with 23 years in law enforcement who has dedicated his career to mentoring young people and strengthening trust within the community. He founded Save Our Young (SOY) Baltimore to create opportunities for dialogue and connection between youth, families, and law enforcement. Through his service and nonprofit leadership, Kawahn works to build lasting relationships that extend far beyond the badge.
Seth and Lindsey Meyer, Port Deposit, Md. —Together, Seth and Lindsey Meyer embody a shared commitment to service. Seth, a post-9/11 Air Force veteran, founded the first new American Legion post in Maryland in more than 20 years, after identifying a need for younger veterans to connect and support one another. Lindsey, a physical therapy assistant, mentors new therapists and volunteers locally to help combat food insecurity. As partners in both life and service, they believe even small acts of kindness can create lasting impact in their community.
Teresa and Pat Sikora, Frederick, Md. — Teresa and Pat are a husband-and-wife team of longtime special education teachers who have dedicated their careers to supporting students with unique learning needs. Teresa has spent 25 years mentoring students and directing her school's theater program, bringing stability and joy beyond the classroom — work that inspired Pat to become a special educator as well. Together, they have watched generations of students graduate and thrive. At home, they lovingly care for two elderly family members, creating a space that reflects resilience, compassion, and care. As Teresa shared, "It feels so special that somebody recognized our commitment. It reminded us to keep going even when things get difficult."
