Presidents' Day, Canada's Family Day and the English February half-term all begin on Monday, Feb. 15, 2027. The collection covers staffed chalets and villas in Courchevel 1850, Val d'Isère, Turks and Caicos and St. Barts.
MIAMI, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Haute Retreats, the luxury villa and concierge company representing more than 2,400 villas, mansions and private estates across 83-plus destinations, today released its February 2027 collection, a selection of staffed chalets and villas in the French Alps and the Caribbean for the week of Feb. 15, 2027. That Monday marks Presidents' Day in the U.S., Family Day across most of Canada and the first day of the February half-term for most schools in England, putting three of the largest luxury travel markets on holiday in the same seven days.
February 2027 at a glance: Presidents' Day (U.S.) and Family Day (eight Canadian provinces) fall on Monday, Feb. 15, 2027, and 143 of England's 153 councils begin half-term that day. Haute Retreats' February collection covers Courchevel 1850 and Val d'Isère in the French Alps and Turks and Caicos and St. Barts in the Caribbean. In the French Alps, the company advises booking the February holiday week, like Christmas and New Year, 12 to 18 months ahead.
One week, three calendars
The overlap is not new, but the traffic through it is. British families have long treated the February half-term as their Alpine week, and they book it early: by February of this year, a full year ahead, the U.K. ski agency Iglu said half-term 2027 was already its most-booked week. American skiers are arriving in larger numbers behind them. U.S. visits to France were up 10.6 percent over the 2024–25 winter, according to official figures compiled by the ski publication PlanetSKI, and in Switzerland, 2025–26 was the strongest winter for American hotel guests in three decades.
Across the luxury market, demand is also moving further out. At its annual Travel Week in Las Vegas in August, the Virtuoso advisor network reported future leisure sales one and two years out up 50 percent on the previous year, with 42 percent of clients booking further ahead to secure their preferred options.
In the Alps: Courchevel 1850 and Val d'Isère
The company's Courchevel 1850 chalets number more than 20, in the highest of Courchevel's villages, with its own altiport and direct access to the 600 kilometers of Les 3 Vallées. The fully staffed tier includes Chalet Courchevel in the Nogentil district, with seven en-suite bedrooms and room for 14, 50 meters from the Bellecôte run, and a butler, chef and housekeeping team plus a chauffeur for getting around Courchevel; and Chalet La Datcha in the Chenus quarter, which sleeps 10 across five suites and has an indoor pool, hammam and private chef. The resort's lifts are scheduled to open on Dec. 4.
Among the Val d'Isère chalets, the houses with a team in residence include Chalet Kazakh, Chalet de l'Ecrave and Chalet Formet, plus the East Wing of Étoile du Nord. Linked with Tignes and scheduled to run until May 2, Val d'Isère is the collection's choice for families who put the skiing first; the company's own Courchevel guide sums up its case as "altitude and reliability." Further chalets are available in Méribel. Courchevel is about two and a half hours by road from Geneva, Val d'Isère about three, and the Eurostar Snow service from London runs every Saturday through Feb. 20, including the half-term Saturday.
In the Caribbean: Turks and Caicos and St. Barts
For families who want the same week in the sun, the collection turns to the two islands at second and seventh place in the company's 2026 Billionaire Villa Index. The Haute Retreats Turks and Caicos villas number 162, across Grace Bay, Long Bay, Leeward, Turtle Tail, Chalk Sound and the private islands; some include a chef, butler and housekeeping in the rate, while others have staff arranged on request. For Canadian families, Porter Airlines adds non-stop service to Providenciales from Toronto this winter and, subject to approval, from Ottawa.
The company's St. Barts villa rentals number more than 100, across Flamands, Gustavia, Pointe Milou, St-Jean and Grand Cul-de-Sac, with more than 18 fully staffed houses where a chef, butler and daily housekeeping are included. Presidents' week falls inside the island's December-to-April high season.
Why October
"February used to be the week families booked after Christmas, once they knew what the holidays had cost," said Sabrina Piccinin, Founder and CEO of Haute Retreats. "It is now the week three countries book at once, and the fully staffed houses do not wait for January. That is why the collection is out in October."
Availability for the week of Feb. 15, 2027, across Courchevel 1850, Val d'Isère, Méribel, Turks and Caicos and St. Barts can be requested through the company's bespoke concierge team. Its guide to Presidents' Day 2027 villas covers the same week across nine destinations, from Anguilla and Barbados to Los Cabos and the Alps.
