Three Cape Cod Rehab Employees Earn Titleist Performance Institute Certifications
Mashpee, MA (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- Cape Cod Rehab is proud to announce recent certifications through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). Both Kathryn Carroll PT DPT and Jennifer Skiba MS became TPI Certified in Level 1 and Briana Lackenby PT DPT OCS CSCS earned the Level 2 Certification for Medical Professionals. All three Cape Cod Rehab employees attended the 2-day workshop last month in Providence, RI.
The Titleist Performance Institute is acknowledged world wide as one of the top facilities for professionals and amateurs to improve their golf game. TPI relies on a team of medical, fitness, and golf professionals to work together to improve golf fitness, prevent injuries, and extend the longevity of play by identifying and addressing mobility, stability, and strength issues specific to the golf swing.
Carroll, a graduate of Northeastern University residing in West Barnstable, is the Administrative Director and co-owner of Cape Cod Rehab Physical Therapy and Fitness. In 2012, Carroll earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in Musculoskeletal Management from the EIM Institute of Health Professions and currently sees patients and clients in Cape Cod Rehab’s Osterville and Mashpee office.
Skiba, a resident of Falmouth, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Exercise Science and an MS in Sport Administration from Canisius College. She is the Marketing Coordinator and also a trainer, group fitness instructor and Site Supervisor for the Mashpee Fitness Center, a division of Cape Cod Rehab.
Lackenby’s Level 2 Certification for Medical Professionals focuses on golf-specific injuries and advanced swing faults along with a detailed medical evaluation. In addition to her TPI certifications, Lackenby, from Hyannis, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University. Lackenby is available in Cape Cod Rehab’s Hyannis office where she is the Assistant Clinical Director.
The Cape Cod Rehab Golf Fitness Assessment utilizes the 16 movement screens recommended by TPI to discover any muscle imbalances, functional limitations or asymmetries to movement patterns necessary for golfers. The goal of Cape Cod Rehab’s TPI Certified Professionals is to address these issues, either in the gym or in physical therapy, to help golfer’s improve efficiency and performance as well as reduce risk and recover from injuries.
Cape Cod Rehab will be kicking off the golf season with “Swing into Spring,” a golf clinic featuring Cape Cod Rehab’s TPI Certified Staff. They will be joined by local Golf Professionals Tim Watroba PGA of Hyannisport Club along with Jane Frost PGA and Jesse Schechtman PGA, both of Sandwich Hollows Golf Club.
Frost earned a TPI Level 2 Certification for Golf Instructors and multiple accolades including Ranked #13 in Golf Digest’s Top 50 Women Instructors. Watroba is a TPI Certified Level 1 Golf Instructor and Schechtman is President of the Cape Cod PGA.
“Swing into Spring” presentation topics will range from “Playing with Pain” to “Power in the Golf Swing” and “Short Game Fundamentals.”
Save the Dates: Thursday April 17 at the Mashpee Fitness Center 10:30am-12pm. Tuesday April 22 at the Barnstable Fitness Center 6-7:30pm. Thursday May 8 at Osterville Fitness 12:30-2pm.
