Threshold Brands offers more home services franchise opportunities as a result of its recent acquisition of indoor air quality franchise, Mold Medics.

Threshold Brands, a leading multi-brand home services franchisor with over 500 units, has announced its acquisition of Mold Medics, an emerging leader in the indoor air quality industry. This partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies and allows them to enhance their capabilities and expand their overall franchise operations.
Mold Medics has established itself as a leader in the indoor environmental health sector, offering a diverse range of high-quality services, including mold remediation, allergen and air duct cleaning, radon mitigation and testing solutions, and more. According to Ron Bender, the Chief Growth Officer at Threshold Brands, the acquisition of Mold Medics was a natural progression, as their shared values and goals perfectly align with Threshold Brands’ overarching mission.

“The Mold Medics business fits very well with our portfolio of home services companies,” said Bender. “We already have had interest from some of our existing franchise owners to expand into Mold Medics, and it just seemed to be a logical expansion.”

Additionally, Bender notes the acquisition will empower Threshold Brands to be able to provide an even wider range of essential home-based services. In conjunction with the services offered by its other franchises, including Granite Garage Floors®, Heating + Air Paramedics®, MaidPro®, Men In Kilts®, Patio Patrol, Pestmaster®, Plumbing Paramedics®, Sir Grout® and USA Insulation®, the addition of Mold Medics further solidifies Threshold Brands as a comprehensive solution provider for home service needs.

“One of the big benefits of partnering with Mold Medics is that it advances our goal of expanding our presence in the home services industry,” said Bender. “It also fits in with our mission of helping people – not only the consumers whose homes we make safer by eliminating mold but also making sure that they don’t have radon levels that are too high. Additionally, we’re also helping more people pursue their dreams of business ownership.”
Tim Swackhammer, the CEO at Mold Medics, says while his team wasn’t initially looking for acquisition opportunities when approached by Threshold Brands, after discussing the potential partnership, it just made sense.

“I’m genuinely excited about the future of Mold Medics and the opportunities this partnership brings,” Swackhammer said. “Joining forces with Threshold Brands allows us to tap into their established systems, practices and franchise partners. We can leverage their knowledge and experiences to further enhance our business operations, strengthen our franchise development and provide even better services to our customers nationwide.”

Looking ahead, Bender envisions an ambitious growth trajectory for the Mold Medics brand. He says Threshold Brands is looking to establish at least six new franchise locations in the next year and expand into an additional 10 locations the following year.
“We know that there are many areas in America where radon is a big problem, and mold can be a huge health issue everywhere,” said Swackhammer, “Our objective is to grow consistently throughout the country.”

About Mold Medics:
Mold Medics was created to provide a consumer-first home care service that no other business currently offers. The industry expertise and insights by CEO and franchisee Tim Swackhammer has allowed the brand to develop a projectable business model, on both a corporate and franchise level, that helps customers find lasting solutions for indoor environmental health. The industry has traditionally been subject to insurance adjusters cutting corners. Mold Medics has developed insights around these limits thanks to Swackhammer’s multifaceted duties. This has allowed the brand to present clearer, more concise treatment plans to both consumers and insurance companies, helping the brand capitalize on high year-round demand. Mold Medics’ treatments have stretched far beyond the traditional mold treatment space, and the brand is able to help consumers with a range of other services, including radon testing and other allergen-induced treatment options.
