LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tim Chey is shooting the remake of Noah's Ark called 'The Flood' in December. The $30 million film will be released in 2,500 theaters in October 2019.'
"I wanted to make a more Biblically-correct version of the Noah's Ark story," says director Tim Chey, "This film will also focus on the total devastation from the worldwide flood."
When the first 'Noah' movie was released in 2014, the faith-based community reacted strongly against the film's storyline, which many said was not accurate. While the film did over $100 million at the box office, many box office pundits believe the film could have done far better if the story had been Biblically-correct to embrace the true faith-based church-goers.
"I believe we're living in the last days before Christ's return," says Chey, "so this makes the film more timely. The Lord himself says as it is in the days of Noah, so shall it be when the Son of Man returns."
The story of Noah in the Bible speaks of a time of great violence and Godless behavior on the earth. The Lord destroyed the entire earth through the flood, but spared Noah and his family due to Noah's righteousness.
Plans are already underway to build the Ark in the state of Georgia and hiring several top VFX companies in Hollywood to re-create the flood.
And the actor to play Noah?
"It's going to be fun finding our Noah," says Chey. "Just leaning on God's wisdom."
Among the actors on the shortlist are Dennis Quaid, Christian Bale, Kevin Costner, Nicolas Cage, Chris Pratt, and Pierce Brosnan.
Pierce Brosnan? 007?
"He did a great job as Robinson Crusoe many forget," says Chey laughing. "And Quaid did a phenomenal job playing Doc Holiday in 'Wyatt Earp'.
Chey's recently completed film, 'The Islands' opens in theaters on April 2019. The film stars Academy-Award winner Mira Sorvino, John Savage, Teuria Napa, and Ricky Sua'ava.
'The Islands' is based on the true story of a Hawaiian queen who found Christ over two hundred years ago and challenged the volcano god by going into the active volcano. It's considered one of the greatest acts of moral courage by a world leader
Chey runs the third largest faith-based movie company in the U.S and has produced/directed over 12 feature films.
Chey also produced the faith-based movie 'Freedom' (Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Sharon Leal) that was shot on the Amistad and also produced and directed Sony Pictures 'Slamma Jamma' (Michael Irvin, Chris Staples) which had a national theater release on March 24, 2017. The film hit 502 theaters in 281 cities across the U.S.
