Tindall Corporation Contributes to Coker Structure Project for Valero Energy Corporation

SPARTANBURG, S.C., Nov. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tindall Corporation produced industrial precast columns for Valero Energy Corporation's new coker structure project in Port Arthur, Texas. This project provided a secure solution that ensured a successful transfer of pipe rack modules within the unit.

The Port Arthur Delayed Coker Unit Addition marks the first time Valero used precast in a construction project. Production began onsite at Valero in June 2020 and was completed on an expedited three-week timeline, which is 80% faster than it would have been using alternate methods and resulted in a reduced number of workers on the project.
Tindall produced 50 precast columns, which were installed on drill foundations and fabricated to line up seamlessly with the module inserted on top. These columns support the steel modules, and the accurate placement of the connecting hardware was a critical component to the success of the addition and future use of the coker unit.
