WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SAE International announces the lineup of keynote speakers for the 2020 Government/Industry Meeting being held from January 22-24, 2020, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

"The Government/Industry Meeting allows for information sharing, providing both legislative and regulatory agencies the means to properly analyze technical information prior to drafting legislation and/or regulations."
Each year, SAE's Government/Industry Meeting unites government policy and regulatory makers with auto industry representatives to discuss the effect of government action and regulations for safety, emission control, and energy conservation on future vehicle design.
SAE International's 2020 Government/Industry keynote speakers include:
- Mark R. Rosekind, Ph.D., Chief Safety Innovation Officer, Zoox (Opening Keynote - Wednesday, January 22): In April 2017, Dr. Rosekind joined the executive team at Zoox as the chief safety innovation officer. He leads efforts to safely develop, test, and deploy autonomous vehicles. Prior to Zoox, Dr. Rosekind was appointed by President Obama to be the 15th Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Serving from 2014 to 2017, Dr. Rosekind led significant transformation, instilling a proactive safety culture while driving both the Agency and automobile industry to be future-oriented.
- Amy Walter, National Editor of the Cook Political Report and Host of WNYC's The Takeaway Fridays (Thursday, January 23): Known as one of the best political journalists covering Washington, Amy Walter is the national editor of the non-partisan Cook Political Report and a frequent on-air analyst. In addition to her weekly appearance on the popular "Politics Monday" segment on the PBS NewsHour, Ms. Walter also hosts WNYC's nationally syndicated public radio news program, "Politics with Amy Walter" on The Takeaway, and regularly appears as a panelist on NBC's Meet the Press, CBS's Face The Nation and the Special Report with Bret Baier on FOX.
- Sarah Dunham, Director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (Friday, January 24): Sarah Dunham is the director of EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), whose mission is to establish and implement national standards for transportation fuels, vehicles and engines to reduce air pollution from mobile sources under the Clean Air Act. Prior to becoming director of OTAQ, Ms. Dunham was the director of EPA's Office of Atmospheric Programs (OAP) where she and her staff worked to improve regional air quality, address climate change, and protect the ozone layer.
