Top End Meat Builds Facility To Keep Custom Butchery Trade Alive In The Rogue Valley
GRANTS PASS, Ore., Oct. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Top End Meat Company announced today the launch of on-farm harvesting services for Southern Oregon Farms. The mobile harvesting services are the first phase of the company's efforts to keep the custom butchery trade alive in the Rogue Valley Region.
"The art of butchery is something many people don't know about but so many of our farmers rely on," said Charles HooperLee, Co-Owner of Top End Meat Co. "Mobile harvesting is more than a convenience for ranchers. It reduces the stress on the animals, eliminates hours of travel to a USDA facility, and gives farmers peace of mind that their animals were well cared for until the end."
Top End Meat's on-farm harvesting will service farms big and small in both the Josephine and Jackson counties. The service is open to farmers of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats. In 2027 Top End Meat will launch a custom meat processing facility in Grants Pass which will cut and wrap both livestock and wild game.
In addition to butchery, the company will also launch a nonprofit Butcher Training Program in Winter of 2027. This 10 week program will teach students the art and business of butchery. Upon completion graduates will be placed into positions across multiple industries including, butcher shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and hotels.
