Hypower, a leading electrical and utility contracting company took home a record-breaking number of recognitions at the 2018 Excellence in Construction Awards by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Florida East Coast Chapter that took place on October 19 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Raising the bar for excellence in the construction industry, Hypower won five Eagle Awards, including Specialty Contractor Project of the Year, and was also named Specialty Contractor of the Year.

The Excellence in Construction awards honors general and specialty contractors for top commercial construction projects that have been completed in the past year. The award recognizes all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects were judged by a panel of veteran industry professionals on complexity, teamwork, innovation and cost, among other factors.

- Mixed-use hotel, residential and retail project in Hollywood’s new downtown landmark Hollywood Circle –Eagle Award, Specialty Contractor Project of the Year
- Gables Auto Vault, a luxury car storage and Tesla service center in Miami, FL – Eagle Award
- NBC Universal Telemundo Headquarters, a 500,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Miami, FL – Eagle Award
- 42-Megawatt (Direct Current) Ground Mount Solar Portfolio in North and South Carolinas – Eagle Award
- 11.82-Megawatt (Direct Current) Stanton Energy Center Solar Farm for the Orlando Utilities Commission – Eagle Award
As a winner of the Eagle Awards, Hypower has now qualified to submit its projects for the ABC National Awards.
Last year, the company won six Excellence in Construction Awards by ABC, Florida East Coast Chapter, and in 2016, the trade association awarded Hypower three Eagle Awards and one Pyramid Award for four of its projects that year.
