Total Seminars Unveil New A+ Certification Materials
(PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- For almost two decades, Houston-based Total Seminars, LLC has been at the forefront of providing training resources—which include study books, practice tests, and video seminars—to people interested in working in the information technology field. The foundation of the company's products is the CompTIA A+, which has become the industry standard for entry-level IT certification. Recently Total Seminars, LLC—under the aegis of best-selling author and company president Mike Meyers—released the latest studying tools for the CompTIA A+ exams.
To get the A+ certification, the student must pass two exams: the 220-801 and the 220-802. The former covers the basics of computer technology and networking, as well as the installation and configuration of computers. The latter focuses more on the required skills for installing and configuring PC operating systems and their common features. Each exam consists of up to 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions.
With the latest iteration of the CompTIA A+ exams, there is full incorporation of the Windows 7 operating system and its common features and expanded coverage of wireless networking. Small office-home office (SOHO) security issues are also explored in greater depth, with added focus on designing and building computers for video editing, gaming, home theater, and computer-assisted design (CAD) workstations, among other features and components. In the 220-802 in particular, there is increased troubleshooting of graphical and command line tools. Other elaborations include virtual computing and mobile devices concerning their increased role in IT.
Students have three exam guide package choices from Total Seminars. At the basic level is the "CompTIA A+ Certification Exam Guide," which simply consists of Meyers's best-selling book—All-in-One CompTIA A+ Certification Exam Guide—and currently goes for $41.99. Customers can pay $125 for the "Total Tester CompTIA A+ Practice Tests," with the option of adding a $5 CD. The Total Tester package simulates the A+ Certification testing experience with 100 questions and a 90-minute time limit. For $375, students can get the "Mike Meyers A+ Certification Video Training," a CD that contains 218 video training episodes that have a running time in excess of 24 hours.
