CUPERTINO, Calif., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Touch-A-Life Foundation, a non-profit organization to support homeless students, is gearing up to run its second annual fundraiser gala event to benefit homeless students across the bay area. Backpacks, clothing, sanitation kits, and school supplies will be provided to students in need through the McKinney-Vento/Foster Care program liaisons at various local school districts.
The 2018 Touch-A-Life Banquet will take place from 6pm to 9:30pm on Friday, December 14th at the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino, recognizing Touch-A-Life 2018 Heroes, providing updates on the annual activities of 2018, and a talent competition with entertainment provided by many talent contestants between the ages of 5 and 18. All funds raised during the evening will go towards supporting local homeless students.
The TAL Hero awards 2018 will be awarded to:
- Anu Jagadeesh, for leading India Community Center's annual Sevathon that benefits hundreds of local non-profits and helping sustain so many important causes
- Dr Romesh Japra for being a relentless Bay Area community leader for over four decades now, making a huge contribution and difference on so many fronts
- Murali Krishnamurthy, CEO of Sankara Eye Foundation, an organization that has been focused on eradicating curable blindness and launching speciality eye-care hospitals
A talent competition will attract more than 20 acts emerging after a rigorous audition, with judges picking out the top 3 contestants, who will be recognized for their performance.
Touch-A-Life Foundation Founder, Tej Gundavelli, will also demonstrate the prototype for a social networking app designed to fight homelessness across the world.
