Towson Tavern, a Scratch Kitchen featuring the dishes made from the highest quality ingredients ranging from tasty appetizers and light fare to filling dishes and decadent desserts, is pleased to announce Chef Brigitte O. Bledsoe as executive chef and director of operations of its restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Towson, Md.
In her new role, Chef Bledsoe is responsible for direction and oversight of foodservice operations for the Towson Tavern and its adjacent sister establishments, The Rec Room and Torrent Lounge.

A Towson, Md. native, Bledsoe grew up with a love for food and a passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients. As a self-taught, award-winning chef, she has worked her way up the ranks of the restaurant industry.
Chef Bledsoe has appeared on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” as well as Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise.” She was also named 2017 Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland for her demonstration of consistent standards of excellence, service as an inspiration to other foodservice professionals and display of dedication to the artistry of food.
Bledsoe is ecstatic to assume the Executive Chef and operations duties for the Towson Tavern and its affiliated kitchens, and looks forward to shaking up the city of Towson with her southern and Chesapeake Bay-inspired cuisine. “My feeling of enthusiasm is off the charts,” she says. “It’s going to be a lot of fun to take my experience in the kitchen and elevate Towson Tavern’s food service program into something that will really ‘wow’ people.”
While the restaurant awaits fully re-opening in the future, Bledsoe is turning her attention toward providing quality, fresh cuisine out of Towson Tavern’s kitchen through the restaurant's new curbside and al fresco dining offerings. Started Monday, May 25, the curbside program features Towson Tavern staples as well as new dishes from Bledsoe’s family archives like Maryland crab cakes and soup, shrimp salad, deviled eggs, southern fried chicken and more. Outdoor dining at the Towson Tavern is set to begin Friday, May 29, 2020, at 5 p.m., a decision happily made after the May 27, 2020 announcement from Governor Larry Hogan that safe, appropriately distanced outdoor dining could resume.
“We are looking forward to showing our customers what Brigitte is capable of through our new curbside and al fresco dining program,” says Recher. “But, as we continually monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and adapt our safety policies, we can’t wait for the day folks can fully enjoy our 20,000 square feet of dining space – both indoors and out. We are excited for the future of the restaurant, and of Towson.”
