TraitWare® Allows People to (Finally!) Go Passwordless with Its Patented Zero Trust, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) Solution

TraitWare’s enterprise-class, patented, plug and play solution combines true Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO), eliminating the need for usernames and passwords, while making life easier for users, increasing security for organizations, and reducing IT support costs.

TraitWare offers a complete Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution that allows IT departments to eliminate usernames and passwords. It’s not only easier for end users, and less costly to administer for technical staff, but it is more secure because it employs up to four-factor authentication.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) systems use more than one of the following security categories: possession (e.g. token, USB key, etc.), inherence (biometrics—e.g., fingerprint, voice, etc.), knowledge (e.g., PIN), and location (determined through GPS tracking).

The patented TraitWare MFA solution seamlessly deploys all four of these techniques:

1. Possession: TraitWare works on most mobile devices and integrates with most enterprise applications. Users can register and install the TraitWare app on one of the mobile devices they already have. The TraitWare solution replaces the legacy password login screen with a QR code, which can then be scanned by the mobile app anywhere you are, allowing you to securely access company resources without a username or password.

2. Inherence: TraitWare relies on the built-in biometric reader of the mobile device (e.g. thumb print or facial recognition) and couples that with an opaque mathematical representation of prior user authentication behavior.

3. Knowledge: TraitWare’s PhotoAuth® photo PIN solution is more secure than traditional PINs, easy to remember, and easy to enter on the smaller screens featured on mobile devices. All the user needs to do is select images from a grid, in a specific order.

4. Location: TraitWare uses geofencing to determine the location of the user to add an additional layer of certainty regarding identity and authorized use.

“The TraitWare solution is simpler because it relies on technology people already have – their smartphone or mobile device,” said Heath Spencer, CEO-CMO of TraitWare. “Our patented technology helps ensure to a high degree of precision that the smartphone is actually yours and in your possession at the time you access a system. This eliminates the need to remember, store, and recall passwords – one of the biggest complaints of end users, and one of the largest drains on tech support resources.”

For IT departments, the TraitWare Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solution is enterprise-grade, with open APIs to allow for easy integration with legacy and SaaS-based business systems. IT managers can decide the level of security they need, anywhere from two-factor to four-factor authentication, while maintaining ease of use for end users. TraitWare also offers full training and support packages.

For end users, the TraitWare smartphone app provides the right balance of security and ease of use. Users simply open the TraitWare app with their biometric access (thumbprint or facial recognition) as they normally would, and scan the QR code generated. There’s nothing to “remember” or to “lose track” of.

TraitWare is available for enterprise users in finance, healthcare, manufacturing, the public sector, e-commerce and more, and as a plugin for WordPress administrators.
