TraknProtect to Demonstrate at Battleground: The Americas
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- TraknProtect, the only IoT infrastructure for back-of-the-house operations at hotels, has been selected as one of 16 startups to demonstrate at Phocuswright’s Battleground: The Americas. The competition, set to take place September 12 at Plug and Play’s Tech Center in Sunnyvale, California will feature the most innovative early-stage travel startups from North, Central and South America. The one-day event is dedicated to bringing promising travel innovators into the limelight to demonstrate fresh ideas in front of potential investors and partners.
TraknProtect is the only IoT platform for the back-of-the-house operations for hotels and offers customizable, real-time tracking and alerts throughout the hotel all on a single platform. By using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, TraknProtect allows hotels to leverage a single platform to track inventory (such as cribs, rollaway beds, etc.), alert teams when room service items are left in hallways, manage vendor locations and timesheets, and provide real-time alerts and employee locations when safety buttons are triggered. As a result, hotels and properties using TraknProtect are improving response times for guest requests, better managing inventory and capital expenditures, and enhancing employee safety.
TraknProtect is among 16 finalists, selected from hundreds of applications, that will compete for the top two slots. Winning companies will move on to present at Summit during The Phocuswright Conference among nearly 2,000 of the most influential leaders in travel.
“We could not be more pleased with the quality of applicants and finalists that will be participating at Battleground this year,” said Pete Comeau, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Phocuswright. “We opened the doors for startups at every level to participate in our innovation platform and feel like we are truly bringing our audience insights into the future of the travel industry.”
During Battleground, contestants have six minutes each to demonstrate their innovations to a panel of sometimes ruthless uncensored judges called dragons. Plug and Play Tech Center in Silicon Valley is a venture fund, innovation platform, startup accelerator, and corporate innovation consultancy.

• Ascape

• Flightsayer
• Germfalcon

"We've put together a stellar program for this event with a keynote from Sam Shank and a range of dragons and panelists including Jim Hornthal, Chris Hemmeter, Christina Heggie, Andrew Jordan and Erik Blachford among others," Comeau added, "It's a great opportunity for our audience to network with the industry’s finest on a more intimate scale.”
