Traliant, an innovator in online sexual harassment training and diversity training, today announced a new course for employees and managers on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA is a federal law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in all aspects of employment, and requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants and employees. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the ADA.

“Our new ADA training helps ensure employees understand their rights and protections under this foundational workplace law, and the importance of ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where individuals with disabilities can thrive,” said Mike Pallatta, Traliant CEO and Co-Founder.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which enforces the ADA, said that employers are expected to comply with their ADA obligations during the COVID-19 pandemic, while following the most current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or state and local public health officials.

Online ADA Training
Designed in a modern, interactive format, Traliant’s ADA training features a video host, viewer email questions and interactive assessments to boost engagement and reinforce key ADA concepts. The course, which includes a certificate of completion, is available in versions for employees (15-min) and managers (20-min). Among the topics covered are the rights and protections under the ADA, interview questions for applicants and employees, examples of reasonable accommodations and the interactive process.

Additional material for managers explains the responsibilities of supervisors under the ADA, including recruiting and hiring, handling accommodation requests and maintaining confidentiality.
