With TransLuma, users can gradually dissolve in or dissolve away the luminance of a scene without the use of keyframes. Choose to bleed away darks and lights to temporarily reveal parts of the next scene before fully transitioning over.
TransLuma allows editors to gradually dissolve away the light in a scene to reveal the following scene. Choose to dissolve away the current scene, or to dissolve in the following scene. Pick and choose between 4 different transitions with customizable options all within Final Cut Pro.
Use TransLuma is easy in Final Cut Pro. Simply choose a transition and drag it between to clips in the FCPX timeline. Next, shrink or expand the handles to change the duration of the transition. Lastly, utilize the controls in the inspector window to finalize the look transition.
With TransLuma, Final Cut users can make adjustments to the translucence of the dissolving footage. Make minor adjustments to the solidity of the edge using the “edge distance” and “shrink/expand” sliders. Increase the “fill holes” slider to increase harshness. With preserve RGB, editors can create a subtle outline effect.
