Trees That Feed Foundation Endorsed by Jamaican Leader
(PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- Trees That Feed Foundation (TTFF), http://www.treesthatfeed.org, announced today that the Governor General of Jamaica has endorsed the organization for its work in the country planting more than 47,000 breadfruit trees, which have brought the nation a reliable and sustainable food source to help combat hunger and also provide cash crops for local farmers.
In a recent ceremony at Jamaica’s King’s House, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen praised and thanked TTFF and its founders Mary and Michael McLaughlin, who were raised in Jamaica. TTFF is supporting the Governor General’s I Believe Initiative. “It is important that we are able to feed our nation, especially with foods that have high nutritional value, “ said Governor General Allen.
“Sometimes you’re not sure if what you are doing is right and valuable, so we are very thankful for this affirmation,” said Mary McLaughlin as she accepted the Governor General’s recognition award.
