We pride ourselves on offering a positive student experience for our adult and military student population. Our continued inclusion on this list says to me that our efforts to provide an affordable and quality education are attainable. - Travis Allen, Senior Vice President, Trident

Trident University International (Trident) has been named to Washington Monthly’s 2020 National University Rankings, placing at #157 out of 389 surveyed institutions. Regionally, Trident comes in at #51 for “Best Bang for the Buck” in the western region of the U.S.

Washington Monthly’s National University Rankings consist of four-year institutions that award a significant number of doctoral degrees.

Trident performed particularly well in the social mobility category at #56 on the National University Rankings list. The factors contributing to the total social mobility score include graduation rates, the affordability of an institution, the diversity of the student population, and more.

Washington Monthly has ranked colleges and universities since 2005 based on what they do for the country – and their respective graduates. Institutions on the National University Rankings list are measured in three equally-weighted areas: social mobility, research, and the promotion of public service.

“I am pleased that Trident has made Washington Monthly’s National University Rankings again in 2020,” states Travis Allen, Senior Vice President, Trident. “We pride ourselves on offering a positive student experience for our adult and military student population. Our continued inclusion on this list says to me that our efforts to provide an affordable and quality education are attainable.”

Trident opened its doors in 1998 with its Ph.D. in Business Administration program. The University currently offers six online doctoral-level degrees. Trident is military-centric, with many students who have a military background, including those actively serving, veterans, and military spouses.

The methodology and full dataset for Washington Monthly’s 2020 National University Rankings are available online. Data used in this survey was culled from publicly available sources, such as Bureau of Labor Statistics, IPEDS, and the U.S. Department of Education.
