Event pipes created with TriggerMesh can now run natively on DigitalOcean App Platform, opening up new possibilities for event-driven applications and integrations
NEW YORK, March 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TriggerMesh, an open-source alternative to AWS EventBridge, today announced support for DigitalOcean App Platform.
Following on the recent announcement of TriggerMesh Shaker which simplifies event consumption and production thanks to cloud-native technologies, TriggerMesh is introducing support for DigitalOcean App Platform as a deployment environment. This allows developers to build their event pipes locally relying solely on a local Docker environment and then deploy the pipe to DigitalOcean App Platform. App Platform is a fully managed solution to rapidly build, deploy, manage and scale containerized applications.
The capability represents a significant shift for TriggerMesh users, reducing the need for a complex Kubernetes runtime and offering a frictionless serverless environment similar to AWS EventBridge.
"TriggerMesh event pipes used to run exclusively on Kubernetes but with Shaker we started offering a developer experience that removed that barrier and could run on Docker. Now with the ability to deploy to DigitalOcean App Platform we are going a step further by providing a deployment environment that is truly serverless in a cloud loved by developers." - Sébastien Goasguen, CEO, TriggerMesh.
In addition to point-to-point integration, TriggerMesh event pipes can be used with an event broker to dispatch events based on advanced filtering capabilities. Use cases include hydrating a data lake with security events, managing Kafka connectors like an AWS SQS sink and a MongoDB target and in conjunction with DigitalOcean Functions this provides new event-based compute to DigitalOcean customers.
"We are excited to see the new use cases that TriggerMesh event pipes deployed on DigitalOcean's App Platform will unlock for our customers. Event pipes can be consumed with DigitalOcean's serverless products. Event pipes complement web and scheduled event sources that our customers are using for event-based architectures on DigitalOcean." - Rodric Rabbah, Director of Serverless, DigitalOcean.
This new feature is available in TriggerMesh's latest release, v1.24. Read the full blog announcement. It requires the TriggerMesh and DigitalOcean CLIs to be installed on your local machine. Join the community on Slack to get going, or run through the documentation getting-started guide.
