NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Authors and Researchers who have studied the conspiracy theories surrounding Lee Harvey Oswald, the trial of New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison and Oswald's activities in New Orleans during the 1950s and 1960s will meet for the last time in New Orleans to mark the gunman's 80th birthday. Headliners are Oswald's girlfriend Judyth Vary Baker and New Orleans-born author Ed Haslam.
Judyth Vary Baker is the author of ME AND LEE: How I Came To Know, Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswald, among other books. Judyth Vary Baker knew Lee Harvey Oswald in the summer of 1963 and says that he did not kill President Kennedy. In fact, she reports that Oswald admired Kennedy, and actually risked his own life to try to save the President from a ring determined to murder him. After three months of almost daily contact between Judyth (age 20) and Oswald (age 23), they became entangled in an intimate relationship, though both were married to others. Through Oswald, Judyth met David Ferrie, Jack Ruby, Clay Shaw, and several other names common to JFK conspiracy literature.
Ms. Baker's story was also featured in Dr. Mary's Monkey by Edward T. Haslam which investigated the death of Dr. Mary Sherman, a doctor who participated in the same research projects as Vary-Baker and Oswald.
Due to the age of the group that regularly marks Oswald's place in history, this is the last time they will meet in New Orleans.
