First Wearable Device for Urinary Incontinence in Health Tech StandOut! Competition

DFree wearable device connects via Bluetooth® to a smartphone or tablet and sends notifications via the DFree app -- informing the individual or caregiver, when it’s time to go to the bathroom.

Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, will be a featured presenter in the Health Tech StandOut! Competition at the 11th annual Connected Health Conference, hosted by the Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance), a HIMSS Innovation Company, and Partners HealthCare. The third annual Health Tech Standout! Competition will spotlight innovative connected health products that are potentially game-changing.

Ty Takayanagi, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, of Triple W, will present DFree®, the first health wearable device for urinary incontinence. A panel of digital health experts have selected six health tech solutions to present on the Commonwealth Main Stage on October 16 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. The Connected Health Conference runs Oct. 16-18, Seaport World Trade Center, One Seaport Ln., Boston.

DFree is a non-invasive wearable device that uses ultrasound technology to monitor bladder fullness and notifies you on your smartphone or tablet when it’s time to go to the bathroom via the DFree companion app. DFree stands for “diaper-free.”

DFree helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. Seniors and people with disability or provisional incontinence who need to manage a loss of bladder control now have an alternative to disposable diapers or pads and medications with the DFree health device. According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide. DFree is designed not only to help people with urinary incontinence improve their quality of life and enable independence, but also to help reduce the burden for the caregivers.
