True Made Foods Earns Spot in Mars Accelerator and NaVOBA Certification
Elohi Strategic Advisors client True Made Foods celebrates back-to-back accomplishments as it is welcomed into the initial Mars Seeds of Change Accelerator class while earning its NaVOBA certification.
MARION, Ill., Sept. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- True Made Foods, an Elohi Strategic Advisors client, has more than one thing to celebrate this season. The company was recently accepted into the first Mars Seeds of Change Accelerator (SOCA) class. Additionally, the health-focused condiment company recently earned its veteran-owned certification through the National Veteran-Owned Business Association.
"The Mars Seeds of Change Accelerator will rapidly advance our already fast growth by giving True Made Foods — a previously only angel-backed startup — access to the deep knowledge and assets available through the Mars Company and its affiliates," explains True Made Foods founder Abe Kamarck.
Of more than 200 applicants, six game-changing organizations were selected for the SOCA launch class to promote the Mars company mission of, "Better Food Today. A Better World Tomorrow." Through the program, True Made Foods earned a $50,000 grant in addition to a custom-tailored scaling program.
"True Made Foods turns junk foods into superfoods by naturally sweetening normally sugar-laden sauces like ketchup, BBQ sauce and sriracha with real vegetables instead," says Kamarck. "By using real vegetables as a sweetener, we have turned these once empty-calorie American staples into nutrient dense superfoods — yet many of our avid customers love the sauces for the taste alone. True Made Foods products are so good consumers cannot tell that they are eating butternut squash and carrots, two of the main ingredients, instead of corn syrup."
In addition to entering the initial SOCA class, True Made Foods recently earned its National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) certification. The company is not only certified veteran owned and operated, but was veteran funded by early-stage angel investors Hivers & Strivers.
"The Elohi team is incredibly proud of True Made Foods and Abe's recent success and history of service," says Elohi founder and Chairman of the Board Stephanie Lind. "After years serving in the United States Navy, he was able to shift his focus from piloting helicopters to removing added sugar from the diets of his — and everyone's — children. These recent accomplishments continue to highlight the growing consumer interest in better-for-you products made by individuals who care."
