TrueVision® Technology Recognized by Cleveland Clinic Doctors and Researchers on Annual List of Top 10 Medical Innovations of 2017
Santa Barbara (PRWEB) December 17, 2016 -- TrueVision Systems, Inc, a world leader in digital 3D visualization and guidance for microsurgery, announced that it’s surgical visualization and augmented reality technology was independently nominated by Cleveland Clinic surgeons as a Top Ten 2017 Medical Game Changer during the 2016 Medical Innovations Summit. The list of winners was selected following discussion, debate and voting on nearly 200 nominations by over 100 Cleveland Clinic doctors and researchers. For all of the selections, to maintain clinical/non-commercial independence, the sources for the innovation are not mentioned, but it is clear from the video that the TrueVision digital microscope platform is being shown in use.
TrueVision’s surgical platform fundamentally transforms the current optical visualization paradigm into a digital one, where critical pre-operative and intraoperative information can be integrated with the live surgical view in real time. This approach not only allows for enhanced visualization of the surgical field, but specific information can be presented to the surgeon when they require it most in order to facilitate improved patient outcomes.
TrueVision’s technology is marketed within many surgical disciplines by leading medical device partners under a variety of brands including NGENUITY (Alcon) and IOLcompass (Leica).
“It’s a tremendous honor to be selected as a medical game changer by the physicians and researchers of the Cleveland Clinic. Also of note, we are the only surgical technology selected, making it even more special. Our digital platform with surgical apps has the potential to dramatically enhance the way surgeons operate and improve patient outcomes for many surgical procedures,” says Forrest Fleming, CEO of TrueVision Systems.
TrueVision Systems, Inc is a world leader in digital 3D visualization and guidance for microsurgery. Santa Barbara, California-based TrueVision has developed and patented an intelligent, real-time, 3D surgical microscope platform with computer-guided software applications. The system enables surgeons to perform surgery by “heads-up” viewing of the surgical field with the ability to produce precise overlays during surgery. The company is focused on developing a suite of guidance applications for microsurgery to improve surgical efficiencies and patient outcomes. The system is in use at hundreds of leading hospitals and institutions around the world for many types of microsurgery including neurosurgery, ophthalmology, endodontics and others.
