After delivering thousands of assured PNT systems for dismounted warfighters, TRX Systems received the first order from the U.S. Army for the new DAPS GEN II mounted solution, extending a proven M-Code based PNT solution to military vehicles and other U.S. Army platforms.
GREENBELT, Md., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TRX Systems received a seventh delivery order (DO7) from the U.S. Army for its DAPS GEN II Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) system that, for the first time, will be deployed in vehicle and mounted applications. In support of the U.S. Army DAPS GEN II Program of Record, TRX has delivered thousands of DAPS GEN II systems to equip dismounted warfighters with assured position and time. This DO7 award expands the use cases supported by DAPS, delivering assured PNT for client systems hosted on military ground platforms.
DAPS GEN II is a state-of-the-art APNT system developed to replace the legacy Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR). It fuses inputs from multiple satellite sources, including M-Code GPS, as well as inertial and environmental sensors to deliver resilient, assured PNT to warfighters and their combat systems, helping them stay on mission, even when GPS is jammed or spoofed.
The DO7 award introduces TRX's Vehicular Interface Adapter (VIA), an accessory mounting device that enables the DAPS GEN II system to be easily integrated into existing platforms and simultaneously deliver assured positioning and timing to an array of vehicle C2 systems. The VIA can also connect to anti-jam antennas and external sensors as required to accommodate varying threat environments.
The U.S. Army refers to this mounted configuration as the Dismounted Assured PNT System (DAPS) Mounted Engineering Change Proposal (DME). Together, the DAPS GEN II device, VIA, antennas, and platform-specific installation components comprise the DME solution. As stated in a release by PM PNT, DME provides a bridge between mounted and dismounted platforms. Delivery of the DME kits for first unit equipped is expected by mid-2027.
"TRX built DAPS on a modular architecture to give warfighters trusted, resilient PNT they can depend on when GPS is degraded or denied," said Carol Politi, CEO of TRX Systems. "This award proves that architecture scales to mounted platforms, giving commanders one trusted PNT solution across dismounted and mounted formations instead of fielding separate systems for each."
