This California HR Conference 2023 is being hosted by the Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA), which is an affiliate of SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management). Based on 12+ years as an organizational development company CEO, Sanchez's CA HR 2023 session will include an important discussion on how crisis affects leaders during and after a major disturbance. SESSION DESCRIPTION: "Crisis will occur time and again. From the 2.6 million jobs lost due to the financial crisis in 2007-2008 to the mass exodus of 50 million employees in 2022, one thing is certain, a crisis will occur time and again and it's scary. Because we are not robots but humans, we experience feelings of fear, uncertainty, and depletion. Our operating system is not easily rebooted after a crisis. No pushing of a restart button or toggling of fictional CTRL + ALT + DELETE keys will reset us to our default settings and erase the hardships we experienced. Not as people. Not as companies. Not as leaders.
To lead people after a major catastrophe, you must practice leading yourself before leading others. Leading yourself is assessing the effects of a crisis both personally and professionally and coming into an optimal version of ourselves as leaders.
