Tsugami Automation to Demo New LaserSwiss with Welding at MD&M MN
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (PRWEB) November 03, 2017 -- Tsugami Automation announced today that it will demonstrate its newest LaserSwiss CNC Lathe at the Medical Devices & Manufacturing (MD&M) show in Minneapolis, Minnesota November 8th and 9th. This is the first time the company has publically displayed this machine in the Midwest.
The new LaserSwiss is a Tsugami SS207-5AX, 20 mm, 7-axis Swiss style CNC Lathe with two fully integrated SPI lasers, one for laser cutting and one for welding. The machine is the first LaserSwiss to incorporate laser welding.
“The addition of a second laser head for welding provides enormous flexibility for end users,” Tsugami Automation Vice President Graham Noake said. “They can reflow a swaged tube end, and they can weld two pieces together, then machine them.”
The laser cutting and laser welding heads can be mounted on either the X/1 - Y/1 axis or B-axis, and customers can choose lasers ranging from 200W to 400W. All laser operations are programmed and driven from the machine’s FANUC 31i-B5 control and each laser’s frequency, pulse width, focus and power are on-the-fly adjustable. Additionally, users can adjust the assist gas pressure from 5psi to 350psi, allowing different pressures to be used for piercing, cutting, and welding.
MD&M MN visitors can see LaserSwiss cutting and welding demonstrations on the Tsugami Automation booth, #2353, throughout the show.
