Tsugami/Rem Sales to Demo New Machine Tools at PMTS 2015
Windsor, CT (PRWEB) April 09, 2015 -- Tsugami/Rem Sales, the exclusive North American importer of Precision Tsugami machine tools, announced today the details of its Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) 2015 display, which includes three machines that have never been displayed at this show.
Tsugami/Rem Sales will showcase its new LaserSwiss Tsugami S205-II with IMG 400LS Laser Cutting System, which combines 6-axis Swiss machining with laser cutting on one machine. The new Tsugami “LaserSwiss,” developed by Rem Sales’ sister company, Innovative Machinery Group (IMG), allows manufacturers to perform turning and laser cutting operations with one setup. All operations are programmed and driven from the machine’s Fanuc 32i-B NC control.
“This isn’t just a Swiss machine with an attached laser,” IMG Laser Product Manager Dale White said. “This is a fully integrated system that operates on a single software platform. The nozzle standoff adjustment is NC controlled, and the laser’s frequency, pulse width, focus and power are all adjustable ‘on the fly’ and programmed through the control.”
The Tsugami SS20M-5AX and SS327-5AX will also make their PMTS debuts at this year’s show.
The SS20M-5AX Multifunction Machine combines the versatility of a CNC automatic lathe with the functionality of a vertical machining center. It features 5-axis simultaneous control, a B-axis tool spindle, and a 24-tool automatic tool changer. The SS20M-5AX can produce complex parts up to 20mm in diameter in a single setup.
The SS327-5AX is a high performance 7-axis Swiss Turn that performs continuous live cutting using a Servo-driven, swiveling B-axis. The B-axis live tools (four front and four rear) operate in coordination with the C axis, delivering the ability to cut precise angles and sculpted contours on parts up to 32mm in diameter.
Visitors can also see the B0206-II 20mm 6-Axis Swiss Turn. The B0206-II is convertible, meaning it can be run as a traditional sliding headstock machine with a guide bushing or as a chucker without the guide bushing.
