Fundamental Concepts of Turbocharging Modern Engines: Current Practices and Trends(WB1859) – Turbocharging is rapidly becoming an integral part of many internal combustion engine systems. While it has long been a key to diesel engine performance, it is increasingly seen as an enabler in meeting many of the efficiency and performance requirements of modern automotive gasoline engines. This web seminar will discuss the basic concepts of turbocharging and air flow management of four-stroke engines. The course will explore the fundamentals of turbocharging, system design features, performance measures, and matching and selection criteria. Both spark ignition and diesel engine systems will be discussed as well as the impact of different applications. It will discuss the interaction between turbocharging and engine systems and the impact on performance, fuel economy and emissions. Developments in turbocharging technology will also be discussed.

ISO 26262 Functional Safety – Road Vehicles: Focus on Second Edition Changes(WB1803) – Functional safety is of utmost importance in the development of safety-critical automotive systems, especially with the introduction of driver assist and automated driving systems. Introduced in 2011 and now issued as a second edition, the ISO 26262: Functional Safety - Road Vehicles Standard has become the de-facto automotive industry functional safety standard, applying to all activities during the safety life cycle of system development. In addition to presenting an overview of the standard, this course highlights the major changes introduced in the second edition, which extends the standard's scope to include all vehicles (excluding special vehicles), the objective-oriented confirmation measures approach, and references to Cybersecurity at the Concept and System Level development.
