“We kind of think of internet years like dog years”, explains founding partner and Creative Director, James Shaw. “If each year is like 10 years because of the rate of change in our industry, we have no choice but to adapt quickly or die. We need to learn new trends or technology, adapt to the changes, and execute good marketing strategies for our clients. Our success lies in filling that knowledge gap that exists in small and mid-sized companies in Western Canada.”
The company has evolved over the years from a strictly digital web design company into a well-rounded integrated marketing agency that encompasses the larger scope of business strategy and planning, producing digital and traditional marketing materials, and then seeing project through to the end. The “end” is a defined set of goals that the results are measured against. Results are fed back into strategies to close the loop.
Thomas Berger, Partner/Technical Director makes it sound easy, “Measuring results isn’t always difficult. You just have to actually do it. Then using the data as a reference, do more of what’s working, and less of what isn’t.”
Even after after 10 years, the agency has retained a sort of “start-up” atmosphere. The office is open with no walls. They team works as a group. The style is funky, yet practical.
“It helps us be more creative”, states Christina Van, the firm’s Art Director and third Partner. “Our management team can quickly communicate and fire back and forth across the room. In many ways, our office is just an extension of our client’s companies. We plug ourselves into the sales and marketing departments and work alongside them, even if we’re not in the same building.”
