Theresa Flynn, an engaged NEEBC member for over a decade who most recently served on the 2021 Silver Lining Awards' program committee, has been nominated to the NEEBC Board of Directors. As a Partner at Strategic Benefit Advisors, a Brown & Brown company, Flynn provides advice to clients in all areas of employee health and welfare benefits.
"Since early in my career, NEEBC has been an integral part of our industry and our professional community. I am excited for the opportunity to expand my role and support NEEBC's continued reach and impact," shared Flynn in response to a question about NEEBC's value to New England's benefits and rewards community.
Also elected to the NEEBC Board is Marianna Gil, a long-time NEEBC supporter, among NEEBC's speakers and panelists, and the Director of Health Benefits for the City of Boston. Gil administers the City's health-related benefits for over 50,000 City employees, retirees, and their dependents.
When asked how her contributions would align with NEEBC's mission and vision, Gil replied, "I strongly believe that to achieve advantageous and equitable outcomes for employees and retirees, it is essential to collaborate, share information, education, and best practices among benefits professionals. I am excited to share my mentorship and perspective, while continuing to learn from this new role supporting NEEBC."
Robin Antonellis, Executive Director of NEEBC, welcomes the newly-elected board members. "Deeply strategic and business driven, Theresa has been a partner for fifteen years in varying capacities," shared Antonellis. "Her industry experience as a thought leader and her in-depth knowledge of the benefits landscape, as well as compliance, are essential assets for our board and members who work in this complex, highly-regulated industry that is constantly changing." Reflecting on Gil's election, Antonellis commented, "Marianna's expertise adds richly to NEEBC's mission and community, while deepening our connection with the City of Boston, a major municipality and hub in New England. At a time of skyrocketing healthcare costs, Marianna already has shared her experience with innovative and cost-effective health benefits design."
Antonellis continued, "I'm eager for the NEEBC member community to profit from Theresa's and Marianna's roles as board members and congratulate them on this recent accomplishment."
