Taking a minimalist approach, Prompt doesn't have hands to tell time and eliminates the modern distractions associated with smartphones and smartwatches.
This Anti-Watch provides an approximate time via haptic vibrations. These show the wearer what quarter hour it is. If a more precise time is needed, LED lights will indicate the time to the minute. It's not a fitness tracker, music player or notifyer of anything other than the time itself.
"Prompt was created after I realized how rude I appeared when checking my smartwatch during meetings or time spent with others," said David Prince, co-creator of Prompt. A modern-day timepiece, Prompt was designed to simply relay the time when triggered by the wearer. One vibration indicates the time is within the first 15 minutes of the hour. Two vibrations means the time is between quarter and half-past the hour, and so on. To display the time, accurate to within the minute, hold a firm touch to the sensor on the face of the watch to activate the LED perimeter. Prompt does require the wearer to know what hour it is, but provides the minute. No more resetting watches backward or forward for travelers who cross time zones as Prompt is time zone agnostic.
For those who wish to keep their wrists free of watches or watch-like displays, Prompt's bezel is easily removed from a wristband and can be checked without ever removing it from a pocket. Prompt's bezel is created from stainless steel and glass with rounded edges for comfort, durability and style.
Prompt is 42mm in diameter and 8.4mm thick. It weighs 36 grams and is available with a stainless steel bezel and wristband. Starting at $159, Prompt is available to pre-order at pr.go2fund/prompt.
