KANSAS CITY, Kan. and KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ServiceMaster Recovery Management who operates one of their flagship locations in Shawnee, KS has partnered with Operation BBQ Relief to help serve those impacted by natural disasters. ServiceMaster Recovery Management made an initial donation of $25,000 to Operation BBQ Relief via a socially distant check presentation earlier this week. Both organizations look forward to furthering the relationship and partnering to fulfill each organization's mission. ServiceMaster Recovery Management helps businesses and communities recover from natural disasters across the country, while Operation BBQ Relief responds to similar events to help feed those in need who may not have access to food due to power outages or area-wide devastation.
"We have seen Operation BBQ Relief serving their mission many times as we responded to natural disasters such as recently with Hurricane Laura. We share a common mission to serve people in their time of need and help communities recover after devastating loss. To us it was clear we needed to find a way to work together. We are excited to support such a great organization." Jim Boccher, President and CEO ServiceMaster Recovery Management
While both organizations are accustomed to the destructive aftermath of hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters, the impact on local residents and businesses is never lost on them. Each organization takes great pride and care in helping communities get back on their feet following a disaster.
"It is an honor to partner with ServiceMaster Recovery Management. With this generous contribution, we expand our ability to serve communities comforting hot meals in their time of need while combating national hunger when the storms are calm," said Stan Hays, Operation BBQ Relief CEO and Co-Founder. "Together, our impact will be stronger than ever."

Operation BBQ Relief is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports communities following natural disasters with hot barbecue meals to those in need and on the front lines. After the devastating tornado in Joplin, Mo. in May 2011, competitive pit-masters from eight different states answered the call to feed displaced families and first responders serving more than 120,000 meals over 13 days. This experience was the catalyst that started what Operation BBQ Relief is today. With the help of more than 14,000 volunteers, 8 million meals have been served throughout the United States. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has provided over three million meals to first responders, medical workers, veterans, families and organizations affected by the pandemic.
