The 2nd generation Zebra ZXP Series 3 card printer features an updated sleek, black exterior and a number of enhanced features. To improve productivity and lower the cost per card, the new edition uses new high capacity, eco-friendly ribbons. The new ribbons are compatible with 1st generation ZXP Series 3 printers, but a firmware and driver update is required. Likewise, the old ribbons are compatible with the new firmware and driver. The ZXP Series 3 also has improved monochrome print quality and expanded card support for 10-40 mil thick cards (the original edition supported 30 mil only).
