YELM, Wash. (PRWEB) March 27, 2018 -- A patent application has been approved for JZ Knight's Blu Room invention, United States Patent 9,919162, "Apparatus for providing light therapy."
The U.S. Patent was granted on March 20 of this year. Patents are still pending in 10 countries where Blu Room facilities are located.
The Blu Room combines relaxation, technology, music and Narrowband UVB light therapy. The Blu Room sessions consist of 20 minutes of deep relaxation inside a futuristic octagon bathed in blue UV-B light. Benefits have included improved health, increased creativity, a faster healing process, greater self-awareness, pain relief and alleviating stress and anxiety.
To date, more than 70,000 Blu Room sessions have been provided in the U.S. and 11 other countries. There are 25 Blu Rooms operating around the world with two under construction. Those nations include: Argentina (in progress), Austria, Canada, Colombia (in progress), Ecuador, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Taiwan and the U.S. Of the 27, three are for private use or employee-use only, and the remaining 24 are open to the public in either a clinical or spa/wellness setting.
The mainstream media has covered the Blu Room with stories in the Seattle Post Intelligencer, Meditation Daily, KING5-TV in Seattle, and The Hill.
The Blu Room has treated many veterans with PTSD. Dale Vaughn, a Vietnam veteran, suffered from years of nightmares and was diagnosed with PTSD. He began using the Blu Room in late 2016. "It feels like I'm going to a place of peace, Vaughn says. “You feel healthy and happy."
Afghanistan veteran Cynthia Williams-Patnoe used the Blu Room as well. She suffered a traumatic brain injury after being struck by a pickup truck when she returned from combat duty. “The Blu Room was very peaceful and therapeutic”, Willams-Patnoe says. She went 3-4 times per week for 20 sessions. “My short-term memory was coming back thanks to the sessions.”
In the U.S. there are Blu Rooms in Yelm, Olympia and Mercer Island, Washington, and in Washington, Missouri, all open to the public. There is one Blu Room in Florida, and one in Hawaii that are only used by employees. New Blu Rooms are under construction in the United States in Ocala, Florida and Salt Lake City, Utah.
