SEATTLE, March 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- University Child Development School (UCDS), the education hub driven by innovation, is now accepting applications for the new UCDS College for School Culture, Master of Education degree program. With courses beginning in August 2019, the program focuses on creating effective school cultures, professional reflection and innovative practice.
Whether new to education or an experienced educator, the Master of Education degree program invites students to focus their educational lens on philosophies that promote inquiry, growing school culture and excitement for learning. Breaking away from the "traditional" degree program, enrolled students will participate in an immersive experience, learning inside UCDS' design-centered school. Graduate students will gain the hands-on skills and knowledge to become leaders in education.
"This academic program unites theory and practice to prepare graduates to become true agents of change in education," David Garrick, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, explained. "UCDS is an innovative hub for current and future educators, and this program advances that mission."
For over 25 years, UCDS has promoted innovation and advancement in education through diverse professional development programs and partnerships. The UCDS College for School Culture, Master of Education program is designed to give educators the skills and dispositions to affect school culture in meaningful ways. Graduate students work in classrooms to test ideas and build the intangible assets of great teaching that are often missed in traditional programs – including culture, differentiation and innovative curriculum design.

UCDS launched the Master of Education program in early 2019. The program is authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council. The application period is currently open for enrollment for August 2019. The degree is designed as a two-year long experience, with 55 credits required for graduation.
