UK Educational Furniture Study Finds 70% Of Teachers And Students Negatively Impacted By Covid-19

PADDOCK WOOD, England, Jan. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- UK Healthcare Furniture surveyed students and teachers to find out how covid-19 has impacted them, with more than 70% of respondents saying it had a negative impact.

Educators across the globe have had to react quickly to an unforeseen situation as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. The world over, we've seen teachers and educators work to establish e-learning strategies to try and keep students "in the classroom." In the states, we've seen criticism across the board when it comes to e-learning, but what is this situation doing to students and educators having to face the issues daily?

We surveyed 100 educators across the US to find out how they think e-learning throughout the COVID-19 crises has affected teachers and students.

How is e-learning throughout the pandemic affecting teacher and student morale?

27% of participants felt that e-learning has had a positive effect on student morale, but a huge 73% feel that it has had a negative effect.

When asked about how e-learning is affecting teacher morale, 30% felt it has had a POSITIVE effect and 70% feel it has had a negative effect.

Are current plans adequate?

Many schools have tentative plans for returning to the physical classroom and relying on e-learning until it's possible to return to traditional education. But how will the safety of those involved be ensured? Are schools prepared to operate wholly on an e-learning basis for the foreseeable future? When asked if respondents felt confident about plans to keep students, teachers, and families safe in the new school year, we found that only 18% were totally confident, while 25% were not confident at all, with the majority of 57% undecided.

75% of participants stated that they were concerned that schools are not prepared in the event e-learning becomes necessary on a long term basis, and 25% stated they were not concerned.
