We at UniCourt identified a need for a new type of report: one that is empirical, based purely on litigation data, with no other factors.
TUSTIN, Calif. (PRWEB) August 27, 2020
UniCourt, a Tustin based legal technology company has just announced the release of its first annual TrueLaw Litigation Index - 2019 Law Firm Ranking, which highlights the nation’s top 200 litigation law firms across U.S. District Courts for all practice types and jurisdictions.
In the announcement, UniCourt noted that, “while a number of organizations and outlets disseminate top law firm reports each year, from the AmLaw 200 to the NLJ 500, the various Altman Weil surveys, and more, we at UniCourt identified a need for a new type of report: one that is empirical, based purely on litigation data, with no other factors.”
To provide added background on the court data behind the TrueLaw Litigation Index, UniCourt confirmed it pulled a complete set of all U.S. District Court civil cases from PACER that were filed in 2019, as part of a larger push to ensure its clients and the public at large could get a “complete picture of federal trial court level cases across all jurisdictions in the U.S.” UniCourt further noted that its 2019 Law Firm Ranking only focuses on private law firms, and specifically excludes all state and federal agencies, U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, state Attorneys General, and nonprofits from consideration.
As part of an initial preview into the TrueLaw Litigation Index, the following law firms were revealed in the announcement as the top ten litigation firms for 2019:
Williams & Connolly, LLP
Nations Law Firm
Liskow & Lewis
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP
Maron Marvel Bradley And Anderson LLC
Vorys Sater Seymour & Pease
Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLC
Faegre Baker Daniels LLP
Fears Nachawati PLLC
To close out its announcement of the TrueLaw Litigation Index, UniCourt also shared that in the coming weeks it will be providing a “behind-the-scenes look at the court data for law firms mentioned in the TrueLaw Litigation Index,” including the fascinating story behind the top two firms, Williams & Connolly and the Nations Law Firm, as well as a detailed breakdown of the representation of BigLaw and the small law firms who top the charts, and a review of the top practice areas and jurisdictions represented in the data.
