Unique Painting KC has donated book bags and school supplies, employees have cooked meals for families, done hair and nails, and provided massage chairs. Newhouse
In 1971, an ecumenical community service located in the Northeast area of Kansas City, MO, recognized that women experiencing domestic violence needed support. In response, they formed NEWS (Neighborhood Ecumenical Witness and Service) and began working together to respond. Initially, NEWS provided neighborhood programs including substance abuse education as well as food and clothing assistance. The need for shelter became evident as abused women repeatedly requested a place to escape from the domestic violence in their homes. Unique Painting KC works closely with Newhouse to make sure they have the supplies they need to properly support the women who come through their doors.
In addition to the above organizations, Unique Painting KC's employees and the company also have supported other organizations and initiatives, including Sisters in Christ and Youth Mentoring programs.
