Universal Sequencing Technology and Shanghai Bioscience Form a Partnership for the Distribution of TELL-Seq™ Linked-Read NGS Library Prep Products

CANTON, Mass., Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Universal Sequencing Technology Corporation ('UST'), a developer of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, today is proud to announce a commercial relationship with Shanghai Bioscience Ltd. for the distribution of TELL-Seq WGS Library preparation kits in China.

The TELL-Seq kit allows customers to transform their short-read DNA sequencer into a long-read DNA sequencer. The method is very scalable and can be readily automated for large sequencing projects. Also, TELL-Seq removes the need for large quantities of sample DNA for important applications such as, de novo DNA sequencing as well as elucidating genomic structural variations and genome phasing.

Universal Sequencing Technology was founded by next generation DNA sequencing veterans from Roche/454. The TELL-Seq WGS Library Preparation kit is the first product launched from UST with multiple products in the pipeline. The underlying technology behind the TELL-Seq, which stands for Transposase Enzyme Linked Long-read Sequencing, was invented by Chief Science Officer Zhoutao "Tom" Chen.
