With a bottom griddle and press lid made of heavy cast iron, SearBQ creates a perfect hard sear on meats and vegetables. Simply place SearBQ on the grill to heat up before adding food for cooking. The heavy weight of the press lid provides pressure across food to ensure an even cook. No more curled up edges on expensive steaks. Because both pieces of SearBQ are made of cast iron, potholders or oven mitts are always required to avoid burning hands.

The bottom griddle features two border lips to ensure a proper fit when adding the press lid. Two channels on the sides collect unwanted grease and runoff and prevent them from running into the grill itself. The press lid also features two ventilation cutouts to allow excess steam to escape the press mechanism. A spiral wire coil handle makes placing and removing the press lid safe and secure. Just be sure to use mitts or heat pads for protection from the scorching heat.

To use SearBQ, place the top and bottom pieces into the grill with all burners on high. Close the lid and let the grill heat up to the desired temperature. Remove the lid, place the meat or vegetables on the griddle and add the press lid. Once food is on the grill press, turn off the burners directly under SearBQ. This helps to ensure a consistent temperature during the cooking process. Set a timer, check meat with a thermometer and enjoy when cooked.
