US Signal Introduces Cloud Availability for Veeam®, Delivering Cloud Backup, Disaster Recovery and Archival through the Veeam Availability Suite™

Customers using Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 can now seamlessly back up and replicate to an offsite US Signal data center — creating ultimate availability for any disaster recovery (DR) plan, with no additional licensing fee. As a Gold Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) partner, US Signal also delivers fully-integrated, cloud-based DR and replication together with fast, secure cloud backup-- enabled by Veeam Cloud Connect through US Signal's vCloud Director.

Now, Veeam customers can perform a full-site failover to a remote US Signal DR site from anywhere, with just a few clicks through a secure web portal and partial-site failover to instantly switch over to selected VM replicas only. This is made possible by extended layer 2 connectivity that keeps IP Schema in place during a disaster event.

In the event of a failover, customers have more visibility and control over replica VMs and gain access to advanced networking services through VMware NSX. Customers can also replicate and recover from backups in US Signal's diverse cloud repositories using VMware vCloud Director. When deployed alongside additional Veeam and US Signal traffic-reduction technologies, the amount of data that must be sent across the WAN can be minimized, further improving recovery times.

Utilizing US Signal Cloud Backup in combination with Veeam Cloud Tier, customers have the option to store primary backups onsite or in a US Signal data center for low RTOs and then reduce costs by creating long-term secondary backups via S3 to US Signal Object Storage. This is ideal for healthcare and financial organizations, where data is required to be kept for several years due to compliance standards.
