OTTAWA, Ontario, Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Utah Department of Health (UDOH) has contracted with STACS DNA for a Track-Kit system to track all newborn screening (NBS) specimens across the state. The system will be deployed to all birthing hospitals to reduce delays between specimen shipment from hospitals and delivery to the state newborn screening laboratory in Salt Lake City. This supports UDOH's goals of saving lives and improving babies' health through the early detection of serious, treatable conditions.

- Notifies the hospital when a specimen has been delivered to the state lab
- Documents specimen storage and destruction at the state laboratory
- Optimizes blood spot card inventory management
