V School's Full Stack JavaScript Curriculum Powers Bryan University's Newest ACCSC Accredited Undergraduate Online Degree in Advanced Web Development
An example of how technical boot camps and traditional university education can merge their strengths to increase access and help students get hired, faster.
SALT LAKE CITY, June 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In collaboration with Bryan University (BU), V School's Full Stack JavaScript (FSJS) course is now accessible to those who benefit from online learning, ACCSC accreditation pathways and Title 4 funding. To include sought-after skills and align with hiring needs, BU approached V School for their outcomes based, industry-backed Full Stack JavaScript curriculum while producing their newest degree program, Advanced Web Development. We're proud to provide an example of how technical boot camps and traditional university education can merge their strengths to increase access and help students get hired, faster.
The new program mirrors V School's FSJS course, where hard + soft skills are combined so that a student graduates with the technical chops, as well as the on-the-job couth. Graduates will master HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node, React, Python, Django, MongoDB, MYSQL, PostgreSLC, among others. Problem solving, critical thinking, inclusion and co-working are heavily underscored during the student's technical learning journey.
BU's online experience uniquely matches the human-centered teaching philosophies of V School's ground campus. Their online learning environment utilizes industry tools such as Slack, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and Scrimba, along with mobile-responsive learning technologies including Cerego, Canvas, and Portfolium. These tools give students the ability to track progress as they skill-up and showcase their coding skills to employers.
V School provides better outcomes through technical education and skill building, the success of which has inspired tech giants and universities to lean-in to boot camps. Google, Apple and IBM no longer require a degree to hire, which communicates that in-demand demonstrable skills are as valuable as a degree. This shift in support has encouraged the friendship of traditional education providers and boot camps, like V School and BU, that seek to find strength together. In this way, we are extremely excited to be able to influence education to increase career success, inclusion and impact.
"Bryan University's partnership with V School provides a great option for those who need more time and flexibility in gaining web development skills and aren't able to attend a more accelerated on-campus experience." Michael Zaro, CEO of V School. In the future, BU will offer a transfer credit pathway for students graduating from V School's on-ground Full Stack JavaScript course to receive credit towards the BU associate degree.
