Validus Group Agrees to Buy Back Broker-Dealer Affiliate

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- Validus Group Partners, Ltd., a Tampa-based investment firm, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent to repurchase Validus Strategic Capital Partners (VSCP), now known as Strategic Capital Management Holdings, LLC, from RCS Capital Corporation (NYSE: RCAP). The purchase price announced today is $5 million.

VSCP consists of SC Distributors (SCD), a provider of alternative investment solutions for financial advisors and their clients, together with Strategic Capital Advisory Services, LLC, a provider of advisory and operational services to non-exchange traded alternative investment vehicles (collectively “Strategic Capital” or “SC”).

“We believe this transaction re-establishes SC as a premier provider of alternative investment solutions to the broker-dealer marketplace and positions them to take advantage of a number of exciting growth opportunities going forward,” said Garcia. “We are excited to reaffirm our commitment to SC and build on our strategic relationship.”

SC’s management team, including Patrick Miller, President and co-founder of SC, Michael McDaniel, National Sales Manager and co-founder of SC and Kenneth Jaffe, President and co-founder of SC, will continue to operate Strategic Capital. The management team has been in place since 2010 and remained in place during RCAP’s ownership Strategic Capital.

This transaction not only benefits SC but also continues to position Validus Group as a leading real estate investment firm. Validus affiliates include the respective external advisors to Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT, Inc. and Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT II, Inc.

The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and other required approvals, consents and filings and other customary closing conditions. It is expected to close in early 2016.
