Solution Architecture Director Honored for Delivering Complex Supply Chain Solutions with Customer-First Focus
LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept.19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Valizant, an innovator in real-time supply chain planning solutions tailored to a company's business practices, today announced that Sushma Subramanya, Valizant's director of Solution Architecture, is a recipient of the 2022 Women in Supply Chain award, selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the only publication covering the entire global supply chain.
The Women in Supply Chain award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company's supply chain network. This year's list includes individuals from software and service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions, and more, all who have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community at large prepare to meet many of today's—and tomorrow's—challenges.
"I am honored to be included among such accomplished women for this year's award," said Subramanya. "There's no denying we work in male-dominated sector, particularly when it comes to solutions providers. I'm heartened to see more women entering the business today, and forging new paths in the supply chain sector. I hope that by my example in leading solution architecture at Valizant, and that of others selected this year, we can inspire a new generation of women in supply chain."
Rising quickly from a supply chain business analyst, Subramanya has become an expert in designing and implementing supply chain solutions across a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, agro-business, high tech, and manufacturing. She now leads Valizant's North American solution architecture team, delivering complex supply chain solutions for major clients. She has implemented solutions for demand, supply, and promotional planning; statistical analysis; stocking strategy, and product segmentation capabilities; which help planners make faster supply chain decisions, save excess inventory, gain visibility and accountability.
"In the 18 months since joining Valizant, Sushma has expertly led major implementations and earned the trust and respect of our customers," said Ed Lewis, president, and CEO of Valizant. "Sushma is a team player with excellent communications skills, which she leverages every day, working closely with users for training, implementation of complex reporting requirements, and addressing the supply chain challenges our customers have faced as a result of the pandemic."
Subramanya earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Syracuse University, specializing in supply chain, and is APICS certified. Prior to Valizant, she was a solution architect in E2Open and Steelwedge Software. She led design of supply chain solutions with cross-functional teams and gained extensive knowledge in data integration, documentation, user training, and testing in agile software implementation.
"When I launched this award three years ago, I was prepared for an uphill battle. I was envisioning a long road ahead in getting the supply chain industry educated enough as to why it was important to recognize women in the supply chain. But, this award, the winners and those who submitted nominations—both men and women—is a testament that supply chain organizations were already recognizing their female leaders; they just needed a better platform," said Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. "This year, we received over 280 submissions. Almost 100 of those submissions came from men. I'm so proud of everyone who participated, both men and women. I'm proud to call these women mentors, role models, and industry friends. I'm proud to interview them, support them and help promote their journey. And, I hope to see all of this year's and past years' winners at our upcoming Women in Supply Chain Forum."
